Jessie Willie Smith, 86, of Waco passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2005 surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be 2 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
She was born on December 1, 1918 in Greenville to Charles Sanders and Alice Augusta (Britton) Rymer. Jessie married Bill Raymond Smith on December 22, 1945 in Waco. She Graduated Waco High School, then attended Baylor. Jesse was a 1st and 2nd grade teacher for the Waco Public Schools and retired in 1985. After retiring she enjoyed many bus trips with other retired teachers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice Rymer; husband, Bill Raymond Smith; sister, Beulah Wiley and brother, Raymond Carter.
Jessie is survived by her daughters, June and Billie Smith of Waco; son, Charles Smith of Waco; grandson, Robin Smith of Waco; granddaughter, Stephanie Smith of Irving; sister, Pansy Decker of Waco.
The family would like to express a special thank you to all the wonderful staff at St. Catherine's Center Rehab, Providence Hospital 3 South, and Providence Hospice.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the National Kidney Foundation or charity of your choice.
