Jim Randles, MD, 59, formerly of Waco, died Saturday, February 4, 2006, at his residence in Vernon, Texas. There will be a service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 8, at Lake Shore Baptist Church, with interment at Oakwood Cemetery.

Dr. Randles was born December 20, 1946, in Fort Worth, son of Bobbie Marie Ross Randles Washmon and the late Troy Jim Randles. A 1969 graduate of Baylor University, he married Sarah Smith in Waco on June 7, 1969, and obtained his MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1973. Dr. Randles practiced for 20 years in Waco, where he was associated with Scott and White Clinic and served as the team physician for Midway High School, before moving to Garland, where he taught in the Garland Family Practice Residency, and later to a rural clinic in Columbia, Louisiana. He moved his practice to Vernon in 2003. Dr. Randles was a former president of Texas Academy of Family Physicians.

He is survived by his wife Sarah Randles of Vernon, mother Bobbie Marie
Washmon and her husband Bruce of Fort Worth; mother-in-law Elizabeth Githens of Waco; daughter Alice Sauer, her husband Michael, and their children Cory, Grace, and Logan Sauer, all of Waco; daughter Cary Randles of Waco; son William Ross Randles of Osaka, Japan; sister Patti Markos, her husband Chris, and their children Christopher and Jenni of Bedford; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorials can be made to Texas Academy of Family Physicians Foundation, Austin; the Jim Randles Athletic Scholarship at Midway High School; or the charity of one's choice.
