Jo Eddy Roberson, 85, of Waco, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 at St. Catherine's Center in Waco, Texas.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 9, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be at Oak Crest Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, September 9, with the funeral immediately following.
Jo Eddy was born on July 8, 1925 near Groesbeck, Texas to F. B. Clewis and Nannie Mae Logan Clewis. Jo and Leonard, her husband of 62 years, raised their three children in Port Arthur, TX from 1944 to 1983. They lived the remainder of their years in Waco. Jo worked at Sears in Port Arthur. Later she was co-owner of a bridal and dress shop business in Port Arthur. Jo was known for her sense of fashion and her cooking particularly her delicious pies that will always be remembered by the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leonard.
She is survived by a brother, Vollie B. Clewis and his wife, Liz of Georgetown. Jo also leaves behind three children, Brenda Thomas and husband, Reverend Larry Thomas of Arlington, TX, a son, Lynn Keith Roberson and wife, Jan of Waco, and daughter Robin Anne Guilbault of Waco. Grandchildren include Courtney Sanders, Erin Hesser, Austin Roberson, Jacob Guilbault, and Noah Guilbault. Great-grandchildren include Sloane Sanders, Madison Sanders, Emma Kate Hesser, Grayson Hesser, and Josie Roberson.
Pallbearers will be Austin Roberson, Mike Hesser, Michael Sanders, Jacob Guilbault, Mike Phillips, Kim Phillips, David Parma, and Gregg Guilbault.
Honorary pallbearers will Noah Guilbault, Larry Thomas, and Vollie Clewis.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Barbin and Providence Hospice for their care of Jo in her final days, especially nurse Sharon Hammond, R.N.
