Joan "Meme" Jackson 82, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 in a Waco
Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at
OakCrest Funeral Home, with Mike Toby officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at OakCrest.

Joan was born March 9, 1930 in McAlister, Ok. to Dave Warren and
Vera Frances Phiffer Newport. She married Charles Wayne Jackson.
He preceded her in death on July 18, 2006. For many years she worked in
bookkeeping in the Banking Industry.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one
daughter, Nancye Davis.

Joan is survived by son; Mark Jackson and wife, Nancy of Wheaton,
III.; daughter, Marta Kay Sherman of Waco; grandsons, Kevin
Williams and wife, Earlene of Nederland, and Brett Jackson of Wheaton, III.; granddaughters, Tonya Reynolds and husband, Jerry of Las Vegas, NV,
Nikki Gregory and husband, Austin, Stevie Sanchez and husband, Ryan,
Katie Sherman, all of Waco, Lindsey and Laine Jackson, both of Wheaton, III;
Five great – grandchildren; and one sister, Bona Bess Daniel of Dallas.
