After battling cancer, Joanne Doyle Tepe (JoJo) of Robinson, peacefully went to be with her Lord Tuesday, February 5, 2008, surrounded by family. It is God's grace that gave her life meaning, and it is what takes her to eternity. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1207 N. Old Robinson Rd. with the Rev. Cary Killough to officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Joanne was born August 28, 1936 in Austin, Texas to parents Victor and Polly Doyle; and grew up in the Waco home of Elmer and Lois Truman. She graduated from Waco High in 1954 . She married the love of her life, David Tepe, on July 31, 1954. Joanne owned a beauty salon in Robinson for several years, ran a craft business, attended MCC, was a talented and published author, award winning scrap booker, and elected to Who's Who' Among Students in American Junior Colleges. She faithfully served many years as a Providence Health Center volunteer. For 14 years, she was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and the SonShine Class. Joanne was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loyal and devoted friend to many. The family she blessed and leaves behind is her Legacy of Love. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Jimmy Doyle, Elmer, Lois , and Lamoyn Truman.
She is survived by her husband, David B. Tepe of Robinson, daughter Suzann Goodman and husband David, son Mike Tepe and wife Heather, son Mark Tepe and wife Mary, Grandchildren Sunshine Polanco and husband Chris, David Goodman and wife Krissy, Wesley Tepe, Presley Tepe, Victoria Tepe, and Audrey Tepe, Great-grandchildren Caitlyn Polanco, Eli Goodman, Audriel Goodman, and Luke Polanco, and extended family Leta, Lynette, Lonnie, Margaret, Stacey, Troy, Valerie, and their families.
Serving as Pall Bearers are David Goodman Jr., Wesley Tepe, Steve Tepe, Matt Tepe, Homer Dale Cox, and Johnny Johnson.
