Joe Boney, 89, long time Waco resident, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Lakeshore Village.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Waco Memorial Park with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mr. Boney was born in Strawn, Texas to Joe Aaron and Ruby Martha (Harris) Boney. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He married Caroline F. Fernandez May 8, 1944 in Yuma, Arizona.
Joe was a longtime member of St. Louis Catholic Church, was a player agent for the Northern Little League, and was a member of the Order of the Arrow and Boy Scouts of America.
Joe retired from Glazier Wholesale Company after 25 years as a salesperson. He was a devoted husband and loving father.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Buster Boney, and sister, Opal Stanford.
Joe is survived by his wife; three sons, Patrick Boney and wife Cindy of Bruceville, Michael Boney and wife, Amber of Hewitt, and Timothy Boney and wife, Daniella of Germany; and grandsons, Cory, Matt, and Aaron.
