Joe Leggett

Joe Wayne Leggett, 61, of Waco passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009 at a local hospital.

Services will be 5 p.m. Monday, July 6, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Joe was born March 5, 1948 in Peoria, Texas to Leon Henry and Alta (Adkins) Leggett. He was in the Jaycees, Young Business Americans, FFA President, and on FFA Judging Teams.

Joe graduated from Baylor University with a degree in business. He worked as a supermarket manager and later in steel fabrication.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Bradford Allen Leggett.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Branna Wood of Hewitt; son, Joe Wayne Leggett and wife, Chrissy of Magnolia; granddaughters, Kaylann Brooke Wood of Holleylake Ranch and Samantha Leggett of Magnolia; grandsons, Robert Mitchell Wood of Waco and Ty Leggett of Houston; brothers, Roy Don Leggett and wife, Frances of Burleson and Larry Leggett of Victoria; and his nieces, nephews, cousins and several special friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Nelson, Frank May, James Free, Johnnie Nard, Ronnie Pustejovsky, Robby and Mitchell Wood, David Derhardt, Hans Ehresmann, Jason Lanier, and Red, Delarmar, and Leroy.

Special thanks to Hillcrest Hospice, the 4 North nursing staff, and the Chaplain services at Hillcrest Medical Center.
