Joe Rubel

Joe Isaac Rubel, 84, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in Gatesville. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 15 at Eddy Cemetery.

Joe was born September 28, 1925 in Waco to Arthur Rubel and Sarah Gardner Rubel. He was co-owner of Rubel Industries in Waco until his retirement in 2002. Joe enjoyed raising cattle, fishing and trips with his wife to Las Vegas.

He married Wanda Watkins on June 24, 1950.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; son, David Harry; his parents; and his sister, Rae Trustman.

Joe is survived by his children, Hanna Phillips and husband, Barry, Suzanne Rubel, Annette Roberts and husband, Mikki and Paul Rubel and wife, Fran; his sister, Hilda Ruttenberg; brother, Leo Rubel and wife, Fae; grandchildren, Alyssa Morrow and husband, Eric, Jarrod Harelik, Josh Harelik, Ryan Roberts, Joe A. Rubel, Amber Haas; great-granddaughter, Sophia Morrow; nieces, one nephew; and special friend, Coyla Ketchy.
