Joe William Taube, age 96, of Waco passed away on May 3, 2022. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at OakCrest Funeral Home in Waco. Visitation will take place from 12:00-1:00 P.M., prior to the service.
Joe was born on February 25, 1926 to Adolph and Lydia Taube near Eddy, TX. After graduating Eddy High School, Joe joined the Army Engineers during WWII and proudly served in the Asiatic Theater. Joe worked for Southwestern Bell for 39 years, and was a member of CWA and Telephone Pioneers.
He was a member of Cogdell Methodist Church and worked with Boy Scout Troup 1. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joe married Mary Pierce in 1950, whom passed in 1981, and then married Sue Wollard in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Bill; daughter, Becky Beeler and husband, Dave; along with four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Cogdell Methodist Church, 1201 W Hwy 6, Waco, TX 76712.
