John A. Cootware, 31, of Waco, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004, in an Austin hospital following heart transplant surgery.
[b]Services[/b]
Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at Park Lake Baptist Church, 3701 North 27th Street, with Drew Wilson, Kenny Wrubel, and Berry Chin officiating.
Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery.
[b]Visitation[/b]
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial video of his life will be shown during visitation.
[b]Biography[/b]
John was born November 11, 1972, in Abilene to Kenneth and Patricia (Carney) Cootware. He was a Police Officer with the City of Lacy-Lakeview Police Department. He had previously served as an officer with TSTC and City of Northcrest.
He was married to Jennifer Wrubel on March 25, 1995, at Park Lake Baptist Church where they had met and continued to be members. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, John Smith.
His fellow officers at Lacy-Lakeview will serve as pallbearers.
[b]Survivors[/b]
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; two sons, Patrick and Carl, all of Waco; father, Kenneth Cootware of Waco; brother, Kenneth Cootware III of San Antonio; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Carney of Arizona; nephew, Kenneth Cootware III of San Antonio, and cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
[b][i]John was a mountain of a man, but had a gentle and quiet spirit.
