John Frederick Watson, 60, of Dawson, peacefully passed away in his home Thursday, May 13, 2004, after the most heroic battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 22, 2004, at 2 p.m. at his home in Dawson. OakCrest Funeral Home of Waco is handling arrangements.
He was born September 27, 1943, in Adelaide, Australia, to the late Charles and Grace Watson.
He moved to the United Stated in 1969. He landed in Dawson in 1972, shortly after he began working for Brazos Masonry in Waco. He retired in 2002 as a job foreman. During this time he built the house of his dream on Navarro Mills Lake.
He is survived by his best friend and wife, Cathy Watson; two sons, Clinton John Watson and wife Sandy, and Quintin Alan York; two daughters, Grace Ann Nicole Watson and Crystal Weverka and husband Timothy; four grandchildren, Raylea, Tyler, Dustin and Jackie; a brother, David Watson and wife Bronwyn; and a sister, Helen Beatty and husband Wally, all of Australia; two nephews, Caleb and Nathan, and two nieces, Catherine and Sarah.
The family gives a very special thanks to Hillcrest Hospice and especially Rhonda who brought Joy and caring to all us through it all.
