Our beloved, Johnna Lynn Behringer, went to be with our Lord and Savior April 10, 2011 surrounded by her loved ones. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation with her family will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Anyone who knew Johnna, knew she was a fighter against all odds. Her faith never wavered and through that faith, she found peace. If you were blessed enough to meet or know her, you loved her. She touched the lives of everyone she encountered; and through her, many people found Jesus Christ as their Savior. We were all so proud and thankful to have her in our lives.
Johnna was born August 31, 1963 to Weldon Martin and Aline Youngblood-Martin in Waco, Texas. She graduated from China Spring High School in 1982 and later married the love of her life Steven Behringer in 1985. Their marriage endured many hardships through her illness, but Steven never left her side and their love never wavered. They had the kind of relationship that others could only hope for. On June 19, 1990, Johnna's dreams came true as she became a mother to Stephen Austin, whom her and Steve fondly dubbed "Pod". It is quite easy to see that he is her greatest accomplishment.
Johnna was preceded in death by her father, Weldon.
She is survived by her husband, Steven; son, Austin Behringer both of Waco. Also left to cherish her memory are her mother, Aline and husband, George Brooks; her brothers, Doug Martin and wife, Nancy of North Carolina and Donald Martin and wife, Jan of Katy, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and an extraordinary group of close friends who will dearly miss her.
The family would like to thank the Baylor Medical Center's transplant team and staff in Dallas. Also, a special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Scott Celinski who stayed by Johnnas side doing everything he possibly could during the last stages of her illness.
Pallbearers will be Donald Martin, Doug Martin, Travis Martin, Austin Behringer, Jerry Pollard and Clayton Hall.
Memorials may be made to the Baylor Regional Transplant Institute, 3500 Gaston Ave. Dallas, Texas 75246
