Jon Dietrick Wackwitz, 20, of Waco, passed away July 27, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 4, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown during the visitation time.
Jon was born in Dallas to Kerrin and Regina (Becerra) Wackwitz. He participated in the Gary Job Corps where he studied welding. He enjoyed racing R.C. cars, fishing, socializing, being a prankster, and making people laugh. He also enjoyed working on his '66 Mustang with his uncle Jimmy. In his life his visited Europe where he swam in the Mediterranean and hiked in Spain.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lillie Becerra; great grandmother, Maria Morales; grandfather, Hank "Papa" Wackwitz, cousin Alicia Ochoa and great uncle Joe Rosas, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Gina Becerra of Waco, and father, Kerry Wackwitz of Plano; aunt, Deborah Becerra and uncle Jim Avera of Waco; aunt, Dena Wackwitz and partner Dave Boyd of Plano; grandmother, Winnie Wackwitz of Plano; grandfather, Alfred Becerra and wife, Vita of Waco; great aunts, Sally Compian and Ninfa Garcia and husband Edward, all of Waco; cousins, Belinda Lopez of Georgetown, David Lopez of Austin, and Armando Lopez of Austin; numerous other family members, and his Rottweiler, Brutus.
