Jose Bernal, 84, passed away on July 9, 2022, in Waco, TX.

Visitation will be at 6 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, with Rosary following at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at St. Francis Church. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Arrangements by OakCrest Funeral Home.

Jose Bernal was born in Galeana, Mexico to Constancio Bernal and Apolonia Bazaldua-Bernal on July 6, 1938. He married the love of his life, Francisca Bernal on March 7, 1959, in Galeana, Mexico. He attended secondary school in Mexico and moved to Texas as a young adult temporarily leaving behind his wife and young child in search of the American Dream. He became a certified HVAC technician through TSTC and worked as a Maintenance Foreman at Towne Oaks for over 30 years. Jose enjoyed listening to corridos, huapangos, and nortenas, playing cards, spending time with his family, and working in his yard.

Jose Bernal is preceded in death by his father, Constancio; mother, Apolonia; and son, Alfredo Bernal.

Jose is survived by his wife, Francisca Bernal; daughter, Jessy Coronado, and spouse, Teodoro Coronado; daughter, Ana Olvera and spouse, John Olvera; daughter, Yolanda Bernal and spouse Ron Salas; son, Jose Bernal II and spouse Crystal Cruz; brother, Remigo Bernal and sisters, Maria Pedroza, Eva Juarez and Ana Alejandro. Grandchildren, Christina Cook, Cynthia Lyons, Francine Coronado, Briana Olvera, Brittany Olvera, Jacob Rivera, Joaquin Rivera, Constancio Jose Bernal, and several great- grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jose Bernal II, Jacob Rivera, Ron Salas, Jose Solis, Aston Love, Shane Lyons, Quincy Cook, and Julio Juarez.
