Mr. Joseph Scott Hayner, 43, of Dallas, a big man with a gentle soul, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Chuck Treadwell, Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating. Soloist at the graveside service will be Cathy Hawes and Bill Herridge will perform on the bagpipe.
Scott graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas. After graduation, Scott became a successful stock broker. His passion in life was working for The Center for Brain Health in Dallas. He was an avid reader, especially books by Marcus Aurelius. He was an animal lover who dearly loved his dogs.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandfather, J. Carroll Wood of Waco; and grandparents, Wayne and Elise Smith of Tyler.
Scott is survived by mother, Joy Wood; parents, William and Susan Hayner, Sr.; grandmother, Doris Wood; brother, William Hayner, Jr.; uncle and aunt, Kent and Beth Hayner; niece, Natalie Hayner; nephews, Jack and Riley Young; and ex-wife, Debra Hayner.

Scott's family invites those attending the graveside service to join them for a reception at Ridgewood Country Club, 7301 Fish Pond Road, immediately following the interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
