Joseph Hill

Joe Hill, 85, a longtime Prairie Hill resident, died peacefully Friday, January 13, 2012, at St. Catherine Center in Waco. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 16, at Prairie Hill Cemetery with nephew, Father Gregory Waldrop, S.J. officiating. A visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. January 15, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Born near Penelope on September 27, 1926, Joe was a well-known member of the farming and ranching community of Prairie Hill all his life before retiring in 1992.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Bascom and Lillian Hill; beloved first wife, Jackie, who died in 1964. He remarried in 1965, and was a devoted husband to Eleanor Frankum Hill until her death in 2008

Joe is survived by his siblings, who for the last several years of Joe's life lovingly cared for him, Doris Dickey, William F. Hill, Patsy Walker, and Louise Waldrop, all of Waco; three nephews, and a great-niece.

The Family would like to thank the staff of St. Catherine Center and Providence Hospice for their kindness and care for the last eight months.
