Josepha Holifield
Josepha M. Holifield, a kind and gentle soul, left us this day, Saturday, July 10, 2004. She died peacefully at her home with her daughters by her side.
Rosary and Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 13th at 7 p.m. at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Father David Liebham of St. Louis Catholic Church officiating. Visitation with the family will follow. Burial will be later in Amarillo.
Josepha was born August 16, 1925 in Amarillo. She graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in History. In 1946 she married W.F. Holifield. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, W.S. and Josepha Birge; her brothers, William and John, and her beautiful daughter, Josepha Adams.
She will be remembered and greatly missed for her sweetness, kindness, and unconditional love.
Survivors include daughters, Patty Flaten and husband, Jeff; and Barbara Holifield and husband, Don Johnson; son, William F. Holifield; sister, Anna Menke; grandsons, Eric and Aaron Adams, Joshua and Zachary Flaten, Tano Johnson; granddaughter, Joyce Yannuzzi; and great granddaughters, Jennifer and Alliason.
Special thanks to Misty, Ocie, and Laura of Providence Hospice, and Dr. Scot Collins and staff whose care and compassion helped more than he will ever know.
