Josephine Guderian, 88, a longtime Waco resident, died Wednesday April 2, 2003 at a local nursing home. Services are 2:00 pm Friday at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Drew Wilson, minister of the Park Lake Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 to 12:00 at OakCrest Funeral Home at 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mrs. Guderian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and child-care provider who was the beloved ?Nana? to generations of children.
She was born June 16, 1914, near Levi and was the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Krause) Nehring. She had three brothers, Ted, Milford and Harvey Nehring. She married Karl Guderian, her husband of 37 years, on February 21, 1947.
Mrs. Guderian was a member of Park Lake Baptist Church. Her family would like to express their appreciation to Eileen Steen and the staff of Lake Shore Health Care Center for care and support in her later years.
Mrs. Guderian was preceded in death by her husband, brothers and a son, William Harold Goolsbee Jr.
Survivors include a son, Arthur Goolsbee and wife Linda of Whittier, Calif.; a granddaughter, Kathy Carrington of Southern California; three grandsons, Austan Goolsbee of Chicago, Darrell Goolsbee of Fort Worth and David Goolsbee of Reno, Nev.; seven great-grandchildren one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
