Joyce Helen Erskine, 75, of Hewitt, Texas was called to rest on Thursday, July 23, 2009.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Stranger Cemetery in Stranger, Texas with Chaplain Courtney Lyons officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Joyce was born on September 3, 1933 in Richmond, Kentucky to Edwin Burley and Opal Wiggins Burley. She grew up in Decatur County, Indiana and graduated from Sand Creek High School. She married Carl Thomas Erskine on April 28, 1986.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; brother, Bobby C. Burley: and her parents.
Mrs. Erskine is survived by sisters, Ruth Greiwe of Greensburg, Indiana and Ruby Siler of Connersville, Indiana; children, Sammy McMurray, Connie Cooper, Paul Laudick , Jamie Jobe and Eddie McMurray all of Indiana, and Tony McMurray of South Carolina, Brenda Gay, Robbie McMurray and David McMurray; stepchildren, Carl Erskine and David Erskine of Texas; 20 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
