Joyce Kilgo, 81, of Waco, passed away on August 30, 2024 at her home. Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 7, at OakCrest Funeral Home, Waco, with Pastor Ramiro Pena officiating. A visitation will be held that same day beginning at 10:00 am. The burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery, Waco, on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 11:00 am.
Joyce was born on February 1, 1943 in Fairlie, TX to Vernon and Minnie Mae Fuller. They later moved to Coolidge, AZ for a short time before moving back to Fairlie where she attended middle and high school. Joyce was a bookkeeper by trade where she worked in several different industries from restaurants to large motel franchises, to plumbing companies. Her last job seemed to be her favorite where she worked for and with Jack Schwan, who owned the famed "Cottonland Castle" in Waco, TX.
Joyce loved roller skating and bowling. She spent many years bowling in leagues in the Metroplex and in Waco. In her younger years she enjoyed boating and water sports, such as water skiing and tubing.
Joyce met and married Billy Kilgo in June of 1986 and built a life together in Waco. Joyce was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin and friend to many.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Vernon Fuller and Minnie Mae Fuller, and siblings, James Fuller, Glen Fuller, and Myra Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Kilgo; children, Todd Gill, Tonya Gill, Toby Gill, and Mark Gill; daughter in law, Debbie Gill; grandchildren, Rachel, Andrew, Brandon, Colton, Keith, and Reagan; great-grandchildren, Ray, Bjorn, Baden, Letta, and Dixie; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to the ASPCA and locally to Fuzzy Friends Rescue. Joyce loved her babies (dogs).
