Judge William L. "Bill" Richardson, 72, of Lorena, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Providence Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with T. J. Corbitt and Buddy Graves officiating and Purdis Medlin delivering the eulogy. Visitation with the family will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Bill was born July 4, 1937 in Charlotte, North Carolina to A. O. Richardson and Ruth Thomas Richardson. He married Marguerite "Sally" Watts on July 16, 1960 in Charlotte. They had met only two weeks prior before he asked for her hand in marriage. They were to have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Bill and Sally moved to the Waco area in 1980.
Bill was a Sales Representative for many years for a Textile Company. In recent years, he served as the Associate Municipal Judge in Lorena. Bill dedicated his life to his loving wife of 49 years, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, J. R. "Dick" Richardson and James Lawson Richardson.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sally Richardson of Lorena; son, William L. Richardson, Jr and wife, Tommie of Newland, North Carolina; daughters, Ginger G. Simons and husband, B.J. of McGregor, Texas and Dana Lehman and husband, Wayne of New Braunfels, Texas; grandchildren, William "Richie" Ryan, Mikki Stokes and husband, Chris, Tara Harmon and husband, James, Wendi Lehman, Brian Lehman, Jon Crowe and wife, Laura and Suzanne Aldridge and husband, Cully ; great-grandchildren Makenzie and Ashlynn Stokes and Jillian Crowe and Cully Wilson Aldridge, III, Tyler, Lexie and Sterlin Harmon; his sister, Pat Holder and husband, Ernie of Charlotte; his brother, Harry Richardson and wife, Barbara of Charlotte; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Roy Jacobs and family of Georgetown, South Carolina; and many nieces, nephews; and a host of close friends.
