February 9, 1927 – January 29, 2013
Julia Faye (Spookie) Cooper Holcomb, 85, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home by Rev. Jim Gray. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.
Julia was born in Groesbeck to Jesse Charles Cooper and Lois Carter, and graduated from Waco High School in 1943. She was a secretary for Lone Star Steel for 17 years, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. In her senior years she played guitar and sang in a country and gospel band.
Julia was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her son, James C. Holcomb of Waco; grandson, Casey Holcomb and wife, Angela; and granddaughter, Jessica Wells and her husband, Troy; and great-grandchildren, Juliette, Skylar, Grace and another on the way, Caleb.
