Julia Merritt

Julia Merritt, 53, of Waco, passed away Monday, June 28, 2004 at a Dallas hospital. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at Waco Memorial Park-North Mausoleum Chapel with Father Melvin Dornak officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Julia was born September 1, 1950 to Donald J. Orr and Dorothy Melasky Orr in Waco. She married Larry Merritt on May 26, 1990. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

Julia graduated from Richfield High School, enjoyed being a ham radio operator, loved the Beetles, and collected Coca-Cola memorabilia. Everyone loved her, and once you met her, you couldn't help loving her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Donald Orr; and a nephew, Billy Mitchell.

Julia is survived by her husband, Larry; a son, Tyrone Merritt and wife, Melissa of Waco; a daughter, Latasha Merritt and husband, Larry Heldenbrand of Waco;
grandchildren, Christopher Max, Amanda Jean, Zachary Deane, and Rebecca Anne Heldenbrand of Waco; special nieces, Natasha and Jessica Franco of Waco; and a sister, Alice Mitchell and husband, Bill of Waco.
