June was born February 13, 1939 in Teague, Texas to Arnold and Mattie Moncrief. She graduated from Teague High School in 1957. June and a young boy, Paul Layton became childhood friends. Their friendship grew into love and they were married December 23, 1961 in Teague. They began their married life stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, while Paul served in the US Army. In 1967, they relocated to the Waco area. June was a devoted wife, mother and Christian. She will be deeply missed by many who love her.

June was welcomed in to heaven by her parents, Arnold and Mattie Moncrief, and her brother, Aldon Moncrief.

Serving as pallbearers are her nephews, Brad Layton, Kent Layton, Mark Layton, and Andy Moncrief and her cousins, Jerry Beasley and Joe Chappell. Honorary pallbearers are nephews, Randy Layton, Gregg Layton and in spirit, John Layton.
