June Geraldine (Tyler) Schroeder, 95, passed away December 1, 2023 in Waco, Texas.

Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm, Thursday, December 7th at Oakcrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX.

Funeral services will be 1 pm, Friday, December 8th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1301 Hogan Lane, Waco, Texas, where she was a charter member. Brian Hesse will be officiating. A private burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

June was born to Mollie Kate (Landingham) Tyler and James Vea Tyler in Gholson, Texas where she grew up on a farm with two brothers and four sisters.

Following graduation from Waco High School, she went to work for Amicable Life Insurance Company in the bookkeeping department. At night, she went to Durham Business College. In 1961, she and Bob started Schroeder Building Systems constructing many commercial buildings in Waco.

She married Robert Schroeder, Jr. in 1952 and together they had three children, Timothy Warren, Marcia Kay, and Gerald Alan. When Bob passed away in 1992, she retired and traveled most of the US and Europe.

June loved sports, especially tennis, which she started playing in her 60s. Watching the Baylor Lady Bears basketball team was her passion, and she was a member of the Tip Off Club. Making friends easily was among her many wonderful qualities. She was always smiling, a good listener and confidante. Many of her friends called her “June Bug”.

June was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcia Kay Chisholm and infant daughter, Kerrie Renee Chisholm; husband, Robert Schroeder, Jr.; and son, Gerald Alan Schroeder.

She is survived by a son, Timothy Warren Schroeder and wife, Kathy; granddaughters, Kimberly Anne Schroeder and Christina Diane Schroeder; brother-in-law, Wesley Schroeder and wife, Darlene; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ed Mazanec III, Mark Mazanec, Greg Menning, Steve Kirwan, Tim Heher and Ron Holy.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of The Blake at Waco. June would say to them “You’re a Sugar!”.
