Karen Mccain

Karen Jean Kirkland McCain passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A time of remembrance and gathering will be 1 - 3 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Karen was born November 24, 1942, in Waco, to Robert and Marjorie (Simons) Kirkland. She enjoyed growing antique roses, loved to spend time with her grandson, William, and was an avid reader of all genres.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 27 years, Paul; brother, Wesley Kirkland; sister, Helen Kay Kirkland; and step-son, Paul McCain Jr.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Gwen Nash Svoboda and husband, Brian, of Waco; grandson, William Barbee of Waco; sister, Gwen Luikart of Waco; nephews, Bryan Luikart of Hanover, NH and John Luikart of Waco; step-daughters, Charlotte Whitney and husband, Tommy, of Godley and Paula McCain, of Durant, OK.
