Katherine (Morrison) Brosnan passed away peacefully on Sunday September 24th, 2023.
Katherine was born in Dobbs Ferry, New York on November 20th, 1935, to Mary (Tuohy) and Chester Morrison of Irvington, New York.
She strongly believed in the value of hard work and education, being the first in her family to attend college. She earned a B.S in Mathematics in 1957 from Good Counsel College in White Plains, NY. After graduation, Katherine applied her math degree working for AT&T.
In February of 1957, she married her college sweetheart, John Brosnan. His work took them from New York through Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Connecticut, and New Jersey before landing them in Texas in 1974.
In 1980, Katherine earned a degree in computer science from McLennan Community College in Waco, TX. She then began a 20 year career using her computer science skills as a programmer and manager at the Texas Farm Bureau.
Katherine and John loved to travel the world together, often on cruises in the company of their many friends.
She was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and an enthusiastic participant in multiple Bible study groups. Katherine also enjoyed gardening, art, quilting, and playing bridge with friends.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband John and sister, Mary Frances Morrison and is survived by her brother, Louis Morrison of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Michael of Fremont, CA, Thomas (Meg) of Redwood City, CA, Bill (Joan) of Reno, NV, and Richard (Patricia) of Tomball, TX.
Katherine was the loving and beloved grandmother of Christopher, Nellie, Sunny, Katy, Erin, Alan, and Lucia. She was also aunt to Ann, Shaun, and Lea.
She leaves us all with love in our hearts and many happy memories of joyful times.
Services will be at St Jerome’s Church in Waco, Texas on Oct 7th, 2023, at 10AM.
