Kathie Morgan

Kathie Elaine Morgan, 56, of China Spring, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at her residence fter a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, followed by burial in the Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Kathie was born in Hillsboro to August and Irene (Hodde) Lander, and lived in this area all of her life. She married D.W. Morgan November 5, 1971 in China Spring. She was an accountant with the City of Waco Finance Department for 20 years. Kathie was an outgoing, selfless wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who never met a stranger. She loved her family, and enjoyed cooking and caring for them. In quiet times, she enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathie is survived by her husband, D.W. Morgan of China Spring; son, Tom Morgan and wife Donna of China Spring; two daughters, Elaine Sulak and husband Keith of Abbott, and Jennifer Morgan of Waco; three grandchildren who she loved dearly, Garret and Natalie Sulak and Cameron Morgan; and a sister, Connie Minnix of Waco.

The family especially thanks her co-workers in the City of Waco Finance Department, the Scott & White Hospice, and the fourth floor nurses of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for their care and support during this time.
