Kathryn E. Brink

Kathryn E. Phythian Brink, 87, passed away December 29, 2009. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2009 at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Jim Moshinskie officiating.
Visitation will be 10 am to 12 noon Saturday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Kathryn was born in Taylor to Thomas and Margreenar Phythian. She had four brothers and sisters, Thelma, Curtis, Edward and Margaret.
She married Floy B.V. Brink April 12, 1943 and gained five more sisters, Eddy, Margie, Lucille, Virgie, and Nell. She and BV owned and operated Brink's Lounge and The Manhattan Steakhouse in Waco for several years before moving to Austin.
They resided in Austin for nearly 25 years, before returning to Waco. There, they operated Mr. Greensleeve's, a local neighborhood farmer's market out of their home on Baylor Street.
Kathryn was an avid bowler and for many years in Waco and Austin, winning many local and state titles. She was also the best Bingo player this side of the Red River and continued to play and win up until her death.
She loved her family very much and cherished every wedding, party, and especially every "B" party for the past 30 years.
She is now with her husband of 35 years, brothers, sisters, and the many family members that preceded her into eternal life.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Brink and wife, Dee; daughter, Joni Stoughton and husband, Gerald; grandchildren, Randall and Janine Brink, Jeremy McKinney, Jamie Barlow, Matthew Burr, and Derek and Scott Stoughton; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Chelsea, Josh, Sienne, and Brett; her beloved Jeane and Johnny Marrs; sisters, Margie Tubbs, Nell Gilleland, and Virgie Shehorn, and many, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
The family expresses special thanks to her niece, Kay Massoletti and husband, Larry for their help, love and support.
