Kenneth Mack Montgomery, 73 passed away suddenly on January 22, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, James William Montgomery and Tiny Ethridge Montgomery; son, Mack E. Montgomery; brother, Aubrey Ray Montgomery; and great-grandson, Bennett Glatter.
Kenny was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, hunting deer and hogs, fishing, and boating. He loved working on any old car, truck, or boat he could drag up in the yard. He was a jack of all trades and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He could build a house, roof it, wire it, plumb it, level it, and remodel it. Kenny was dyslexic and unable to read well, but that never stopped him from supporting his family. He had a stronger work ethic than most people. He was a truck driver for more than 40 years and taught the trade to several grandsons. He loved his family and was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Connie Clinton Montgomery; son, Rodney Stane and wife, Laura Brunner Stane of Burleson, TX; daughter, Staci Stane Hart and husband, Shawn Hart of Morgan, TX; daughter-in-law, Alisha Montgomery Flanary of Riesel, TX; son, Donald Montgomery of Hewitt, TX; daughter, Kelli Montgomery and Christopher Messimer of Hewitt, TX; daughter, Danielle Montgomery of Bellmead, TX; son, Jimmy Montgomery of Morgan, TX; and his beloved dog, Jazzy. He was papaw to 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Kenny never met a stranger and was loved by everyone who knew him.
A special thanks to Wesley Woods Rehab staff for the love and care they provided, and to the domino playing friends he met while there who affectionally called him “sandbagger” for his skill at the game. We are forever grateful to ya’ll for making his last days on earth pleasurable.
A date and time for a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
