A memorial celebration honoring Kenneth Milton Pierce, 69, of Waco, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, at OakCrest Funeral Home, with Rev. Lester Adams of Aquilla officiating.
Visitation with his family will follow with a memorial video of his life being shown. A private burial will be held later.
Kenneth was born March 24, 1935, in Waco to Cazzie and Dolly (Woodliff) Pierce, and he passed away May 24, 2004, in Waco. He was married July 21, 1956 in Waco to Loretta Bates.
He retired in 2001 from Baylor University where he was a Preventive Maintenance Technician at Penland Hall for 13 years. Prior to that, he was a brick mason at the Waco VA for 16 years. After retirement, he worked special events at the Lee Lockwood Memorial Library. He loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Kenneth was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church, and served in the Army Reserve for eight years. He and his wife Loretta also enjoyed the many fun times they experienced as members of the Varicose Veins Club. Kenneth was a good friend to everyone, always bringing laughs and good times to those around him. He will be missed by everyone who treasured his friendship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Shirley Pierce.
He leaves his wife, Loretta; two daughters, Penny Stimpson and husband Kenneth of Waco, and Ginger Bailey and husband Jerry of Lorena; two grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life, Chase Singer of Waco and Bethany Bailey of Lorena; brother, Raymond Pierce and wife Jane of Fort Worth; sister, Ann Hayes and husband Grant of Speegleville; brother-in-law, Leroy Bates and wife Dianne of Elm Mott; nieces and nephews, a host of special friends, and his beloved furry friends, Caz and Dolly.
The family especially thanks Bill and Pauline Rose for sharing their farm with them and allowing Kenneth to enjoy it so thoroughly. Kenneth especially enjoyed the friendships of Don Alanis and George Goolsby, his longtime hunting and fishing buddies.
