Kenneth Ray Sydow
was born October 29, 1943 in Waco, Texas. He passed away on January 26, 2024. A visitation will be Wednesday, January 31st at OakCrest Funeral Home from 5-7pm. The Rosary will be recited at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 1st at 10 am at St. Louis Catholic Church with the burial following at Oakwood Cemetery.
Ken spent his life willingly and unselfishly giving to others. On February 2, 2024, Ken would have celebrated 51 years of sobriety. During this time, he sponsored many individuals.
Ken was an active sportsman who competed successfully in archery, fishing, and target shooting. He was known for his humor and generosity of time. Ken worked at Howmet Aerospace, formerly Huck, for 50 years as an inspector.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Flossie Sydow; sister, Helen Matustik; and two brothers, Robert and Dick Sydow.
Ken is survived by his wife Diane, of 49 years; his son, Kevin Sydow and wife, Tonya; his daughter, Kristie Watson and husband, Grady; his 6 grandchildren, Reid Watson, Gracie Watson, Krista Honey, T.J. Tanner, Ashley McNeal, and Brandon Jarvis; his 5 great-grandchildren; and his Australian Shephard dog, Charlie.
