Kenneth Raymond Veselka, 59, of Billington passed away at his home Sunday afternoon, July 18, 2010.
A memorial Mass with Rosary will be held 10 am Saturday, July 24, 2010 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Kenneth R. Veselka was born in Waco on July 24, 1950 to Louis and Martha (Rejcek) Veselka. He attended St. Mary's and St. Louis schools and was a graduate of Reicher High School in the Class of 1969.
He received an Associate Degree from T.S.T.I. for Engineering. He was employed at Tymco, Inc. where he was a draftsman and designer. He retired in June 2010 with 40 years of service in which he obtained six design patents.
He married Connie June Williams August 8, 1971. Together they had four children and fifteen grandchildren. Kenneth was an accomplished musician in the Central Texas area and played with several Nashville Recording Artists while in the Starlites. He was inducted into the Musician Association of Central Texas Hall of Fame in 2008.
He was the former President of the HOT Farmers Market Association as well as a participant with his organic produce which was grown at their Veselka's Sandy Oaks Farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Daniel Veselka.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; daughters Joyce Lally and husband, Eric and Rebecca Northcut and husband, Shane; sons, Israel Veselka and wife, Tina, Mark Veselka and wife, Laura; a brother, Ronnie Veselka and wife, Kathy; sisters, Cecilia Haferkamp and husband, Doug and Margie Veselka; extended brother and sister are Michael Gonzales and wife, Dorothy and Linda Dedmon.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren: Laure Lally, Jessica Gerik, Ethan Smith, Denton Gerik, Allyson Bowers, Taylor Veselka, Tori Northcutt, Sarah Veselka, Patrick Veselka, Dalton Northcutt, Rylee Veselka, Brindley Northcutt, Louis Veselka, Kendall Northcutt and Lacey Veselka.
