LaJuan Harrison Maxwell left this earth early Wednesday morning at her home in Waco.

LaJuan grew up as a resident of Hill County, living both in Abbott and later in Hillsboro, Texas. She was the youngest daughter of Cary Lee Harrison and Minnie Pearle Chapman. She was a longtime active member of Cogdell United Methodist Church where she made many lifelong friends. She retired from Waco ISD where she spent most of her career.

LaJuan preceded in death her husband of 63 years, Billy Joe Maxwell and her children Ricky Maxwell and wife Lisa, Bradley Maxwell and wife Rebecca, Melissa Peschel and husband Ronnie, and Blake Maxwell.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Zachary Maxwell, Brently Maxwell, Courtney Ledbetter, Ryan Peschel, Brandon Maxwell, and Ethan Maxwell. Great grandchildren include Lexie Maxwell, Whitley Maxwell, Hendrix Ledbetter, and Hayes Peschel.

Visitation for LaJuan will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Oakcrest Funeral Home during normal business hours (9am to 4pm) with family not in attendance. Graveside service will be at Waco Memorial Park Wednesday, December 30th at 11:00 am. All social distancing practices will be observed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church in her name.
