Mrs. Laura Frances Ford, 77, of Waco, passed into eternity Friday, October 12, 2012. Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m.
Laura was born March 26, 1935 to the union of Mr. Lucious B. and Mattie E. Jackson in San Marcos. She attended the San Marcos Colored School. She was united in marriage to Mr. James Brady. To this union six children were born. Later Mrs. Ford was united in marriage to Mr. William Ford and to this union six children were born.
At an early age, Mrs. Ford accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She was a willing and faithful worker for Christ until her illness. Mrs. Ford was a loving and caring person and a wonderful mother. She loved cooking. She was known for her peach cobbler.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, both husbands, and two brothers.
Mrs. Laura Ford leaves to cherish her memory sons, Wendel Brady and wife, Phyllis, of Waco, Gary Wayne Ford, and wife Donna, of Tulsa, OK, Gerald Ford of North Carolina, and Larry Brady of Tiffan, OH; daughters, Mattie Brady of Minnesota, Roberta Brady Lee and husband, Robert, of Altus, OK, Emma Smith of Nebraska, Thelma Brockenbrough and husband, Stephen, of Philadelphia, Yvonne McGlown and husband, Tony, of San Antonio, Sharon Ford of Nebraska, Barbara Ford and husband, Donnie, of Albuquerque, NM, and Shiryl Lynn Temple of Colorado; twenty-seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Texas Home Health Care and the Providence Hospice nurses, nurse-aids, social workers, and chaplains.
