Laura M. Gilbert, 80, of Hewitt, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012. Services will be held at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, with Ken Riley officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 15th, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.

Laura was born May 20, 1932 in Sweetwater to Raymond B. and Mary (Anderson) Burnett. A devoted Christian, Laura faithfully served her community church for many years. In her free time she enjoyed playing games as well as entertaining her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ray Clifton, three brothers, and two sisters.

She will be missed by her daughters, Susan Moon of Houston, Kaye Moreland and husband Howard of Tucson, Vickie Marler and husband Steve of Wylie, and Pam Kosarek and husband John of Waco; grandchildren, Lisa, Leslie, Lauren, Teresa, Sandra K., Charlene, Tori, Jimmy, Stormy, Ben, Melanie, and Chris; and great-grandchildren, Dustin, Ariel, Katie, Mallory, Nick, Christopher, Michael, Rodger, Cooper, Colton, Trenton, Karoline, Chase, Colby, Camden, Lilli, Ty, and Makena; great-great-grandchildren, Bella and Lily, as well as many friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Martindale for all of his tender care and compassion. Thanks also goes out to the nursing staff at Providence Health Center 4th floor South and Hospice care team for all the support, love and care given in her final days.
