Laura Lynn Easter Patschke
February 23, 1968 – July 6, 2015

Laura Lynn Easter Patschke, of Crawford, passed away July 6, 2015. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Oakcrest Funeral Home. A short graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with her family will be held 6-8 p.m., Friday at Oakcrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco.

Laura was born February 23, 1968 in Ft. Worth, TX to parents Linda Sadler Easter and Jerry Easter. She attended Lorena High School where she was active in sports, including track, basketball, and cheerleading. She received a college track scholarship and graduated from Texas A&M (Whoop) with a double major in safety and industrial engineering.

Laura worked for Shell Oil Company from 1992 until her passing. She served in a variety of roles, most recently in information technology. Her work family will miss the creativity, joy, and smile that she brought everywhere she went. Her boss said she is “one of a kind, as she inspired others to do more and be bold.”

Laura had an entrepreneurial spirit, was a licensed life coach, a lifelong athlete, raised lavender but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children. She was the best hugger you ever met and always had a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen.

She and Chad Patschke are parents to three beautiful children who were the lights of her life: Trevor Lee Patschke, Tanner Christopher Patschke, and Payton Elizabeth Patschke, and three step-children, Colton, Cassidy, and Charlie.

She was preceded in death by all of her grandparents and father.

She is survived by her children and step-children; mother, Linda Easter of Waco; sister Elizabeth Easter Baumgart and Elizabeth’s husband Bobby of Round Rock; brother Jason Easter, his wife Esther and their children Amanda and Andrew of Crawford. She is also survived by a close extended family and numerous close-long-time friends.

Laura loved flowers (her favorite color was purple) and you are welcome to send them. An education fund has been set up for the Patschke children at Security Bank of Crawford should you wish to contribute.
