Lavelle Henderson
Lessie "LaVelle" Martin Bryant Henderson died February 19, 2011 in Waco, Texas after a long struggle with COPD. Graveside services will be 2pm Tuesday, February 22nd at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9pm Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
LaVelle was born in Big Hill, Limestone County, Texas on July 22, 1930 to Clyde and Edna Beard Martin.
She is survived by her husband Tom Henderson of Waco; son Craig Bryant and wife Debi of Houston; granddaughter Carrie McNiel, husband Brian, and daughters Brooke and Megan of Austin; grandson Scott Bryant, wife Jill, and daughter Hollyn of Waco; sisters Noogie Clark of Waco and Clydene Sherwood of Indianapolis. She is also survived by her four stepchildren and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and her son Lyle David Bryant.
LaVelle had a passionate interest in genealogy and spent many hours researching her family roots. She also collected Beatrix Potter storybooks and rabbit figurines. She was a member of Crestview Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Medina Children's Home, 21300 State Highway 16 North, Medina, Tx 78055 or charity of your choice.
