Leona Weikel

Leona Weikel, 90, peacefully entered the loving arms of her creator Saturday, March 7, 2009. Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at OakCrest Funeral Home with the Rev. Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Weikel was born in Durango, Tx to Fred and Christina Greger. She retired from the Texas Dept. of Public Safety and was a bookkeeper for Dr.Flowers at the Children's Clinic for many years. Mrs. Weikel was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church; a volunteer for the St. Louis Catholic Women's Society, Providence Hospital and the China Spring Civic Club. She spent her leisure time line dancing, sewing and gardening.

Mrs. Weikel is survived by her daughter Brenda Winfield and husband Chuck; son Larry Weikel and wife Tracy; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband the former Justice of the Peace Clarence Weikel, daughter Donna Baker and granddaughter Jennifer Baker.

Pallbearers will be Justin Winfield, Chase Winfield & James Weikel.
