Leonard Roberson, 83, passed away on July15, 2004, at St. Catherine's Rehabilitation Center in Waco, Texas.

Funeral services will be at the Oak Crest Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 17, at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. Larry Thomas officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 16 between 6:00-8:00 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Leonard was born near Valley Mills, Texas on November 24, 1920, to Victor H. and Mittie Arene Duckett Roberson. His parents, two sisters and four brothers preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jo Clewis Roberson, daughter Brenda Thomas and husband Reverend Larry Thomas of Arlington, Texas, son Lynn Keith Roberson and wike Jan of Waco, Texas, daughter Robin Anne Guilbault and husband Gregg of Waco, Texas, grandchildren Courtney Sanders of Arlington, Texas, Erin Hesser, Austin Roberson, Jacob Guilbault, Noah Guilbault all of Waco, texas, great granddaughters Sloane and Madison Sanders and Emma Hesser. Five sisters: Lois Quarles, Teague Texas, Lou Phillips, Waco Teaxs, Wanda Seibern and husband Frank of St. Louis Missouri, Janyce Rhodes of Houston Teaxs, and Marlene Parma and husband Rudy Parma of Groves, Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Leonard and Jo raised their family in Port Arthur, Texas from 1944 to 1983. He was a safety engineer for the American PetroFina Refinery in Groves, Texas for 39 years. When he retired they moved to Waco to be close to their family and friends dearly and greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was an avid baseball player and he managed little league teams for many years. He liked all kinds of sports and went to ball games in central Texas as long as his health permitted.

He loved to play dominoes, and he and Jo belonged to two 42 Clubs in Waco. He was a Mason for many years, a Deacon in the Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.

Pallbearers will be Austin Roberson, Gregg Guilbault, Mike Hesser, Michael Sanders, Kim Phillips, David Parma. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Guilbault, Rudy Parma, Frank Seibern, Vollie B. Clewis, Ed Hensel, Mike Phillips, and Gaylan Wiley.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Barbin and the caring staff at St. Catherine's for their excellent care and comfort during Leonard's illness.
