Leslee Calhoun Huggins

On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Leslee Kay Calhoun Huggins, loving mother, aunt, and friend,
passed away at the age of seventy-five. In celebration of her life, family and friends will gather
for a memorial service on Monday, December 19th , 11:00am, at the First United Methodist
Church in Waco.
Kay was born February 12, 1947, to Lesley Calhoun and Dorothy Calhoun Trump in Mineral
Wells, Texas. She grew up in Mineral Wells where she was known to be as pretty on the inside
as she was on the out. After an appearance in the Miss Texas pageant, she used that
scholarship money to follow her big brother, Skip, to North Texas State University, where she
graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She later married a military
officer that moved her all over the United States, making numerous lifelong friends and having
plenty of adventure along the way.
After living from coast to coast, she moved to Waco in the early eighties to be closer to family.
She loved sports and was always in the stands cheering for her daughter, nieces, nephews, and
her beloved Baylor Bears. She was wildly creative and always finding a way to laugh. Kay loved
people. She was always interested in the happenings of the lives she witnessed. She had the
incredibly special skill of giving her undivided attention and engaging in conversation as if you
were the most important person in her world.
Kay was preceded in death by mother, Dorothy Trump, stepfather, Bill Trump; Father Lesley
Calhoun and brother, T.C. “Skip” Cox.
She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Lorre Swanson Brock and husband Reb; three grandsons from Reb, Logan Brock and wife, Emily; Tanner Brock and Cooper Brock and wife, Corinna; the most precious great-grandchildren Micaela, Harper, Beau and Zoe; lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Linda Kay Cox; nieces and nephews that she loved as her own, Shannon Applegate and husband, Craig; Troy Cox and wife, Beverly; Kyle Cox and wife, Abbye; Gailey Bolfing and husband, John; J.J. Cox and wife, Stephanie; and many, many others that called her Aunt Kay or dear friend.

Special thanks to the extraordinary ICU nursing team at Providence that genuinely cared for Kay in her last days. To Faith, Rachel, Darby, Karen, Jason and Abbey, you are wonderful people for
the work you do.

In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to the charity of your choice or do a random act of kindness in
