Leta Culp, 87, of Houston, formerly of Waco, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. with burial to follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.
Leta was born Sept. 10, 1928 in Nolan, Texas to Travis Emuel and Mary Vandelia (Smith) Webb. Leta graduated high school and April 2, 1948, she married E.J. Culp in Roscoe, Texas. Leta was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church for 29 years and more recently had been attending, and was a member of Cypress Creek Baptist Church in Cypress, Texas.
Leta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. E. J. Culp; son, Larry Culp; and brother, Lee Roy Webb and infant brother, Lloyd Webb.
She is survived by her sons, Lloyd J. Culp and wife, Susan, of Houston and James Culp and wife, Kathryn, of Grand Prairie; daughter, Evelyn Sasamoto and husband, Kisaku, of Toyko, Japan; daughter-in-law, Kathy Culp of Clifton; brothers, Lawrence Webb, Leonard Webb, and Lou Webb; sister, Marie Way; grandchildren, Larry Jeff Culp, Jr., Sheila Culp, Lindsey Mitchell, Masaki Sasamoto, Yuri Sasamoto, Caitlin Vestal, Miranda Culp, Clint West, Troy West, Zach Culp and Chase Culp; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
