Lillian G. Lievens

Lillian Lievens passed from this world on June 1, 2016, peacefully in her sleep at Georgetown Living in Georgetown, Texas. A rosary and memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, June 4 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco, Texas.

Lillian was born Lillian Gertrude Psencik to Rudolph and Albina Svec Psencik on May 23, 1918 in Smithville, Texas where she lived until her marriage to Robert Henry Lievens on July 8, 1944. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2007.

Though for most of her adult life, she devoted her time and energy to raising her four children, she was employed at Camp Swift in Bastrop during WWII as a switchboard operator and retired from Montgomery Ward, where she worked part time for over 20 years. Lillian was a faithful volunteer at Providence Hospital and St. Louis Catholic Church for over 30 years.

Lillian lived strong. She will be remembered as a pillar of her family and her community; an unfailing, kind wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her keen memory was remarkable - she never forgot a face, a name or a connection.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Psencik and sister, Olga Sablatura.

She is survived by her brother, Ivan Psencik; sister, Frances Sowder; her children, Rita Harris, Robert Lievens, Jim and Kay Lievens, and Marcy and Mike Woodward; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family would like thank the staff of Georgetown Living for the loving care our mother was given. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Providence Hospital Auxiliary.
