Lois G. Luft
February 29, 1920 – December 2, 2007
Lois G. Luft, 87, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at her home on Sunday, December 2, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Wednesday, December 5th at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Ron Durham, Pastor Emeritus of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday night, December 4th at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., in Waco.
Lois Luft was born February 29, 1920 in Ennis, Texas to Robert and Dolly Cashion. The family moved to Waco at an early age where she lived throughout her life. Lois attended Waco Public Schools, was employed at J.M. Woods Manufacturing for 22 years, and Waco Apparel for 16 years retiring in 1991. Lois faithfully worshipped each Sunday through the Columbus Avenue Baptist Church television ministry. Although she lived a simple and humble life, Lois was blessed with a wealth of love, compassion and care for others.
Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mark W. Luft, who passed away in 1976. She remained in her home and lived independently for 31 years after his death. For those who knew Lois, it was easy to recognize that her greatest joy in life was sharing a genuine love for her children and their families.
Lois is survived by four children, Virginia Crow and husband, Fraser of Murchison, TX; Beverly Young and husband, James of Waco; Keith M. Luft and wife, Brenda of Plano, TX; Gary W. Luft and wife, Bonnie of Waco; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a multitude of friends.
Pallbearers will be Keith, Gary, Neil and Mark Luft, James Young, Fraser Crow, David and James Kirkpatrick.
