Lois Spence, 86, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in Waco. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 20 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Mrs. Spence was born June 20, 1923 in Golinda to James P. Ferrell and Mary Elizabeth (Bell) Ferrell. She worked for R.M. Crow as a seamstress for many years. She married Quinea Spence May 24, 1941 in Waco. She was an angel on earth who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinea; six brothers and sisters; and one grandson, David Wayne Spence.

Mrs. Spence is survived by her daughters, Carla Rowlee and husband, Kayle of Waco and Darlene Tolen and husband, Greg of Austin; sons, Bud Spence and wife, Ann of Houston and Jimmy Spence and wife, Esther of China Spring; her sister, Joyce Ann Walloch and husband, Walt of Florida; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to all her doctors, Providence Hospice, the staff of Courtyard at Hewitt, friends at William Booth apartments and her special caregivers, Nita and Tenisha, for their compassionate care and love.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Wesley Spence, Larry Spence, Danny Spence, Clint Spence, Shane Helka and Kyle Rowlee.
