Lonnie "Slugger" Ervin Brink Jr., passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at his home in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, Oct 27, 2015 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
He was born August 22, 1947 to Lonnie and Miltie (Hector) Brink. In 1965 he graduated from University High school, and in May of 1969 he married Judy Franks.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Brink Blackwell and her husband, Ryan; his son, Brady Brink and his wife, Nicole; four grandchildren, Jaime Brink, Nicholas Beltran, Sophia Blackwell, and Olivia Blackwell; his brothers, Ronnie, Kirby, Terry, and Stan Brink, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Lonnie enjoyed sports, softball, cooking, reading, fishing, art, and spending time with his family. He was an avid collector of cartoon and toy memorabilia, and enjoyed talking with people wherever he traveled. He never met a stranger, and loved hearing the stories of others.
