Lora Ford

Lora Hughes Ford, 83 of McGregor, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 8, 2003 at a local hospital. Memorial services will be at a later date.

She was born on November 5, 1920 in Purdon, Texas to William D. and Martha E. (Kennemore) Hughes. Lora enjoyed bowling and square dancing and was active in Waco bowling leagues up until her death.

Lora was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Eunice Foster of Dawson; her brothers: John Will Hughes of Lorena and Tommie Hughes of Anchorage, AK.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Ford of McGregor; daughter, Babe Carroll Crossman of McGregor; grandson, James Martin Holder of Abilene; brother, A.L. Hughes of Waco, seven sisters, Ailene Freeland of Hubbard, Elva Gladney of Oxnard, CA, Annie Mae Jones of Tyler; Mary Lou McPherson of Dallas, Mildred Nell Walker of Longview, Loma Gladney (twin sister) of Waco, Joann Rodgers of Baytown and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
