Loraine Davis passed from this life to her eternal home on March 08, 2016 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, March 11th. at Oakcrest Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 12th.at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard, Texas.
Loraine was born to Clay and Laura Henthorn McClain on August 4, 1924 in Hill County, Texas. Her birth name was Lorene having been named after one of her aunts, but she preferred the name Loraine and used that name her entire adult life.
Loraine served many customers and made numerous friends thru her 40 plus years of employment in the banking industry. She retired 3 different times, from Community Bank & Trust after 20 years, from American Bank after 15 years and from Fidelity Bank after 5 years.
Loraine is survived by children Rhonda Cunningham and husband Mike, Tommy Roach and wife Lois, two brothers Lowell McClain and Paul McClain, granddaughter Patti Morrison & husband John, their children Abbi, Izabel, Rachel, Michael, Andrew and John, Jr., granddaughter Kristen Ward & husband Dustin Stewart, their children Mikayla, Dusty & London, granddaughter Jeri Cunningham, her children Stephanie & Aidan, grandson David Gresham & wife Amber, their children Landry & Garrett, Joey Gresham & wife Amber, grandson Darryl Roach & wife Bernadette, their children Haley and Lauryn, granddaughter Sheila Russell & husband Heath, their children Bradley, Hope, & Kymber, grandson Brandon Roach and family, step-daughter Nancy McCraw and children and step-son Vernon Davis along with a host of other friends and family. All in all, she was blessed with a total of 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by former husbands, C.A. Roach and O.C. Davis, parents Clay and Laura McClain, infant son Alvin Clay Roach, sister Lois Guinn, step-daughters Lora Cousins and Merrilyn Grady and stepson Charles Davis.
Honorary pallbearers are John Morrison, Dustin Stewart, David Gresham, Landry Gresham, Joey Gresham, and Dusty Stewart.
The entire family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to special caretakers, daughter-in-law, Lois, granddaughter, Jeri, great-granddaughter Mikayla and hospice nurse, Kim.
