Velva Lorene Hollis, 85, of Robinson, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 31, 2004.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City with her great nephew, Rev. Paul Michael Vacca officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.
Lorene was born June 17, 1918, in Paris, Arkansas, to Hansel and Lydia (Balkman) Trusty. She married William P. Hollis on November 18, 1939, in Oklahoma City. They lived in Big Springs and Lubbock until his death in 1970. Lorene moved to Oklahoma City where she worked for the State of Oklahoma for 20 years, and was a member of Capital Hill Assembly of God. She moved to Waco in 1996 to be near her family, and attended Victorious Life Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Byron Trusty of Paris, Arkansas; and three sisters, Celia Franklin of Oklahoma City, Thelma Rasberry of Oklahoma City, and Ester Smith of Springfield, Mo.
She is survived by her son, William Don Hollis and wife Dee of Lubbock; daughter, Betty Jo Kingery and husband Gell of Waco; four granddaughters, Cherri Shaw and husband Spencer of Dallas, Amber Rogers and husband Brandon of Keller, Jennifer Jo Plemons and husband Corey of Lubbock, Andrea Martinez and husband Rudy of Waco, and Jacquelyn Kingery of Waco; great-granddaughter, Gabrellia Martinez of Waco; numerous nieces and nephews, love ones, friends, and long time caregiver Eva Wilkinson.
