Lorenza Garcia of Waco passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 in a local nursing home. She was 100 years old. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 1, at Oakwood Cemetery.
Lorenza was born June 13, 1907 in Aquas Caliente, Coahuila, Mexico, to Juan and Lorenza (Castillo) Garcia as the third to the youngest from a family of eleven. She came to San Marcos as an infant, and then moved to Waco. She never married and cared for her mother who lived in Waco until she died at age 112.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Argulano (Albert), Ernest, Gegorio, and Fuland Garcia; and sisters, Fidela Rosales and Petra (Betty) Jimenez.
She is survived by her brother, Pablo Garcia of Detroit, Michigan; her nephews, Joe Jimenez and wife, Stella of Robinson and Luke Garcia of Chalk Bluff; and Georgia Espinoza of Waco who she raised like a sister.
